Retreat
“We have come into this exquisite world to experience ever and ever more deeply our divine courage, freedom and light!” -Hafiz
YOGA
On RAW retreats, each day begins and ends with an hour to hour and a half yoga session. In line with our commitment to eat local, we also desire to contribute to local economies. As such, we have partnered with some of our destinations’ finest instructors in order to provide relaxing and restorative yoga sessions during our retreat. Each session is geared specifically to the needs of the sore cyclist/skier and you’ll find yourself learning new techniques to incorporate into your practice at home.
BIKE
As much as RAW retreats are about relaxation, they are also about pushing yourself physically. Vashon Island is home to hilly terrain that weaves through forest and alongside the Puget Sound. Each day your professional and personable guide will take you on a riding adventure that will relax your mind as you breath in salty ocean air, pass by the dozens of local farms and stop to take in views of Mt. Rainier and the Olympic mountains. Rides are accompanied by a sag wagon that will be available to fix flats, offer boosts and refill water bottles. A gourmet picnic lunch will be provided midway through your ride and you may find yourself surprised by a few other secret Island treasures along the way as well.
Food
Raw retreats is proud of its food. Sourcing primarily from Vashon Island farms, the staff will prepare fresh and innovative food that will leave you feeling full of health, energy and inspiration. You will eat breakfast and dinner from the comforts of the Bayview lodge in a relaxed, yet elegant setting.
Please notify staff of any allergies or food limitations you have prior to your retreat and they will accommodate your needs.
Lodging
Guests on RAW retreats stay in one of Vashon’s premier properties. Built in 2000 by owner/operator Bryan Cordell, the Bayview Retreat center provides a feeling of log cabin luxury. You’ll start your morning off with a yoga session to the sent of blooming lilacs in the backyard garden, enjoy the views of Dockton Bay as you sip coffee from the front porch and soak into relaxation in the evening in the perfectly situated outdoor hot tub. You’ll like it here.
In the winter, you’ll find the lodging equally as remote and relaxing. We strive to partner with locally operated lodges that are committed to sound environmental and economically sustainable practices. Your lodge will feel good and support local economies.
